ERVING — CST Nominee Trust of Greenfield has claimed a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Gold 50X” game with a scratch ticket purchased at Weatherheads Convenience Store on the French King Highway, which gets a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
The trust, represented by trustee George Goodridge III, opted to receive its prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes.
Lottery winners are allowed to use a lawyer to create a lottery trust and represent them when claiming their prize at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s headquarters in Dorchester. The legal representation helps people keep their identity anonymous and protects their privacy, assets and beneficiaries.
Erik Semb, son of Weatherheads Convenience Store owner Ralph Semb, had no comment for the Greenfield Recorder on Wednesday other than to congratulate the ticket’s anonymous buyer.
