North Quabbin Animal Control receives donation

At a recent meeting of the Athol Selectboard, board member Andy Sujdak, acting in his capacity as secretary of the 25 Sportsmans Club of Athol, presented a check for $4,365 to North Quabbin Regional Animal Control officers Jennifer Arsenault and Janelle Caron (at right) to help fund the department’s activities. The monies were collected at a fundraising event, which included raffles and a chicken barbecue, held at the Sportsmans Club on Saturday, Aug. 10. North Quabbin Regional Animal Control serves the towns of Athol, Orange and Royalston, each of which provides funding. The animal control office is located at 450 Thrower Road in Athol, which is also the site of the regional animal shelter.
