Victoria Luksha, otherwise known as Tori, is running for a position on the Northfield Planning Board. Tori is a planner and a great choice for our town. Although Tori is relatively new to town, she has invested in the town by joining the Emergency Services Building Committee, the Consservation Committee, the Community Preservation Council, and more. Tori’s occupation is in environmental compliance, aiding municipalities in being compliant with federal regulations and executive orders. Prior to that, she was a field archeologist. Referring to Northfield, Tori wrote, “What appeals to all of us, is the beauty of the natural world that is woven into the fiber of the town. I believe that we can turn these cherished green spaces into town treasures that we can share with others from outside our town. Ecological tourism, or tourism that centers on leveraging our natural places for public enjoyment, can be a way to save our green spaces and bring money into our town. This solution is not accomplished overnight; additionally, developing this in increments, over time, allows for our town to absorb the cost at a slower rate, making it an affordable solution as well. Also, this allows for the welcoming in of other supporting industries that look favorably at environmental preservation and enjoyment.”
