ATHOL – The final Fourth Friday Fest of summer takes place on Aug. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. in downtown Athol.

Main Street will be closed off between Island and Exchange streets to give visitors a chance to wander from vendor to vendor and easily visit the downtown merchants that are open for the event. The theme for the final Fourth Friday Fest is “The Dog Days of Summer.”

Seth Newton will provide musical entertainment. Cristen Lett of Cornerstone Drafts of New Salem will be back, this time with Emma, her white percheron horse. Dinner and desert will also be available as Ed's Dreamdogs and Los Agaves will be providing food and beverages, and Athol House of Pizza will be open for dine-in or take-out. The North Quabbin Lodge of Freemasons will be selling ice cream.

“Bring a chair and enjoy,” said Mary Holtorf, chair of Athol’s Downtown Vitality Committee. The annual Fourth Friday festivities are sponsored by the DVC.
