Athol man to be sentenced on child assault charges

ATHOL – Eric Powell of Athol is to be sentenced in Franklin County Superior Court Friday on five charges, including indecent assault and battery on a child, according to court records.

Powell was found guilty of three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and one count each of open and gross lewdness and intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official after a five-day trial that concluded on April 28, according to court records.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday by Judge John A. Agostini.
