Bulletin Board: Greenfield United Soccer plays first games

The Greenfield United Soccer Club competed in its first games this weekend, with the Greenfield U9 team earning a 5-0 win over East Longmeadow and a 6-1 win over Agawam.
Arlo Gilman-Goddard scored three times against East Longmeadow while Maxwell-Gilman-Goddard contributed two goals. Henry Gannon, Arlo Gilman-Goddard (2), Julian Hake (2) and Maximo Tomas scored against Agawam while Arlo Gilman-Goddard, Julian Hake, Elias Koppenheffer and Tomas had assists. Kevin Nguyen made a save.
The Greenfield U8 team beat Holyoke, 8-0, behind goals from Harvey Skuse, Liam Grant, River Shurman (2) and Francis Marchefka (4). Grant, Shurman (2) and Marchefka had assists while Rowen Murphy made two saves.
Elks Club 0, Franklin First Credit Union 0 — Lycinia Guillemette and Zoelle Luippold both had two hits for the Elks while Grayson Baker, Charlotte Cooley, Gace Hickey and Maya Towne had two hits for Franklin in a scoreless tie during Greenfield Girls Softball League’s opening day Saturday.
Greenfield Garden Cinema 15, Vermont Wildcats 0 — Maisie Miller struck out nine, Hannah Sheppard had two hits while Dani Zraunig, Samantha Rider, Makenna Ward and Alexis Preissler each contributed a base hit in Greenfield’s win Saturday.
Freedom Credit Union 3, Sandri 0 — Evelyn Abercrombie pitched and had three hits, Adeline Ebbighausen pitched and had two hits while Ella Kimball had two hits in Freedom’s win Saturday. Riley Riepold pitched for Sandri.
Gilmore & Farrell Insurance 15, Triton Automotive 2 — Kinsley Bergeron and Harper Kingsbury both had two hits in Gilmore’s win Saturday. Tianna Moise-Valdez had two hits in the loss.
Pristine Orientals 4, Pipione’s Sport Shop 0 — Kacie Cadran had three hits while Emma Carney, Adriana Peters and Savannah Daignault had two hits in Pristine’s win Saturday.

Gary Blanchette, Ed Pedruczny, Ernie Patnode, Joe Wisneski and Corrine Sysun shot 22-under to take first in an Opening ABCD Foursome to Baseline Par Net contest at Country Club of Greenfield Saturday.
Mike Archer, Trenton Vielbig, Joe Viadero, Bob Welsh and Kathy Nicoll placed second (-19) while Douglas Farrick, Paul Viens, Pete Kuzmeskus, Phil Corrinet and Ann McHugh took third (-17).
The Post 81 American Legion Baseball Team will hold registration and tryouts on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4 at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Field in Greenfield.
The program features both Junior Division and Senior Division teams. Players ages 17 and under by Dec. 31, 2025 are eligible for Junior Division action, while players ages 19 and under by Dec. 31, 2025 are eligible for Senior Division play.
Players from all Franklin County schools are eligible to try out, and those on a previous Post 81 roster must still try out in order to be eligible. Players are asked to bring a glove, cleats and their original birth certificate.
