Bulletin Board: CCG’s Andy Lesenski qualifies for 2025 Massachusetts Amateur Public Links Championship

Another 2025 Massachusetts Amateur Public Links qualifier took place on Thursday at Gardner Municipal Golf Course, with the top 14 finishers and ties advancing to the Public Links Championship scheduled for July 29-30 at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston.
Andy Lesenski, representing Country Club of Greenfield, carded a 2-over 73 to finish in a tie for sixth place. That score punched him a ticket to Boylston, with any score of 3-over or better advancing in the tournament.
Cyprian Keyes’ Joe Macaulay had the low score on the day of 3-under 68. He was the lone competitor in the 89-person field to shoot under par.
Country Club of Greenfield’s Matt Bardsley did not make the cut, shooting a 9-under 80. Crumpin-Fox’s Tim Hubbard carded a 12-over 83.
Northfield Summer Road Race
Mark Rabasco was this week’s winner of the Northfield Summer Road Race, completing the 3.1 mile course in a time of 17 minutes, 44 seconds.
Isaac Bingham came in second (17:52), followed by Cameron Woodcock (19:09), Ben Emberley (20:07), Dan O'Brien (20:35) and Mike Bear (20:38). Laura Raffersperger (20:45) was the first woman finisher and came in seventh overall in the 34 runner field. Twelve walkers also participated.

CJ Morales scored 28 points and Tyson Dowdy added 10 points in Rattigan and Sons’ 83-69 victory over OSC-Manning on Wednesday in a Men’s League contest of the DRIVE League at Greenfield High School.

In boys varsity action in the DRIVE League on Thursday at GHS, Grayson Thomas dropped 39 points and Gavin Arsenault added 24 points in Greenfield’s 65-59 win over Brattleboro. Hudson Smith scored 18 points and Dawson Wheeler added 17 points in the loss.
After, Keene beat Franklin Tech, 79-46, behind 21 points from Jamal Stanley and 15 points from Kasen Abbitt. Mason Bassett led the Eagles with 11 points.
Hulk Calypso’s 10 points and Hunter Brooks’ nine points propelled Orange to a 57-54 overtime win over Hatfield. Rowan Donovan finished with 27 points for Hatfield.
The final boys varsity game on Thursday saw Athol take down Easthampton, 46-43, behind nine points from Ollie Johnson. Pat Larson tallied 14 points for the Eagles.
Franklin Tech Girls Summer League
Mahar 28, Franklin Tech 13 — Hayden Comeau scored 10 points, Stasi Sanders tossed in seven points, Taylor Paluk fin ished with five points, Lexi Ares tallied four points and Jaya Eady scored two points in the Senators’ triumph on Thursday.
Brayleigh Burgh scored three points, Madyson Lynde, Samantha Duncan and Ariel Peters each scored two points and Alison George made a free throw in the loss.
Ware 48, Greenfield 7 — Reese McKeever tossed in 19 points and Amelia Orszulak scored 18 points in Ware’s triumph Thursday.
Tayler Bergeron scored four points and Sofia Ruggeri added three points for the Green Wave.
Hopkins 33, Franklin Tech 18 — Olivia Earle finished with 12 points, Reese MacGregor and Vivian Higuera each scored seven points and Daniella Valle-Dardano added four points in the Golden Hawks’ victory Thursday.
Burgh led the Eagles with nine points, Sophia Jagodzinski scored four points while Peters and Duncan each scored two points in the loss.
Pioneer 43, Athol 24 — Jacobia Tyminski led the way with 13 points, Maggie Tsipenyuk scored 11 points, Avalyn Hall tossed in seven points, Kyler McClelland and Deveney Pillsbury each scored six points and Brooke Welcome added two points in the Panthers’ win Thursday.
Sadie Wilcox finished with 10 points, Natalie Lanoue scored nine points, Serena Nkgafe tallied three points and Abby Spooner added two points for the Bears.
PV Women’s League
Conway 7, Goshen 1 — Cassy Jouannet singled in Conway’s 7-1 Pioneer Valley Women’s Softball League victory on Thursday.
Whitney Roberts doubled and Jocelyn Crowningshield knocked two hits for Goshen.
Timmons-Messer
Bob LaCoy and Andy Sena won a match of cards over Curt White and Jeff Seymour to card the low gross of 35 in the Timmons-Messer League at Northfield Golf Club Wednesday.
Bob Perlman and Jack Letourneau carded the low net of 27 followed by Matt Deane and Rob LaPointe (28). Marty Powers and Neil Black tied for closest to the pin on No. 6 (14 feet) and Pete Mallet won on No. 7 (6-5). White was the match medalist with a 37.
